Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 July 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of the website nationalspeakers.la and set out the general terms on which National Speakers provides speaker booking and event services. Individual engagements are governed by a separate written agreement, which prevails in the event of any conflict with these Terms.
1. About us
National Speakers is a speaker bureau owned by Barbara Williams, located at 486 Santa Monica Boulevard, Richmond, Virginia 23219, USA. Contact: contact@nationalspeakers.la, +1 (949) 245-4679.
2. Use of this website
You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, to introduce malicious code, to scrape content at a scale that burdens our infrastructure, or to reproduce substantial portions of our content without written permission.
3. Our role as a bureau
We act as an intermediary between clients and independent speakers. Unless expressly stated in a signed agreement, speakers are independent contractors and are not employees or agents of National Speakers. We select and vet speakers carefully, but we do not warrant any particular outcome, audience reaction or business result from an engagement.
4. Enquiries, quotes and bookings
Information on this site, including indicative fee ranges, is provided for guidance and does not constitute an offer. A booking is formed only when a written agreement is signed by both parties and the required deposit is received. Quotes are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise.
5. Fees and payment
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, a 50 percent deposit is payable to confirm a booking and the balance is due 14 days before the event date. Travel and expenses are billed at actual cost against receipts. Late payments may accrue interest at 1.5 percent per month or the maximum rate permitted by Virginia law, whichever is lower.
6. Changes and cancellation
Postponement and cancellation terms are set out in each engagement agreement and summarised in our Refund Policy. Where a speaker becomes unavailable through illness or force majeure, we will propose a substitute of comparable standing; if no substitute is accepted, fees paid for the affected engagement are refunded less non-recoverable expenses.
7. Recording and intellectual property
Speaker presentations, slides and workbooks remain the intellectual property of the speaker. Recording, streaming and reuse rights must be agreed in writing before the event. All content on this website, including text, layout and the National Speakers name and logo, belongs to National Speakers or its licensors.
8. Client obligations
You agree to provide accurate event information, to supply a venue and technical environment consistent with the confirmed technical requirements, and to notify us promptly of changes to date, format, audience size or venue.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with an engagement is limited to the bureau fee paid to us for that engagement. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost registrations or reputational harm. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify National Speakers against third-party claims arising from your breach of these Terms or from your unauthorised recording or distribution of speaker material.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The state and federal courts located in Richmond, Virginia have exclusive jurisdiction, and the parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution before commencing proceedings.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you use the site applies to that use. Signed engagement agreements are not affected by later amendments.
